#1 When Books Burn
Read the information and view the pictures presented on this website. Make sure you browse every link (except for the lesson plan link). Choose four pieces of information from the website that surprised, shocked, or affected you in some way. Explain why you selected these four pieces of information. Each response should be at least three sentences in length. The response should include the piece of information that grabbed your attention, why it was shocking to you, and any other information you think important to the response.

On this page, you will find the books most often challenged or banned from 1990-2000. Read through this list, and identify at least one book you’ve read or heard about. Why do you think this book was challenged? Do you think this is a book that should be banned? Why or why not?
