Today you will conduct research, gather resources, and begin to write a one-page research paper. You will choose a topic from the list provided on the Opposing Viewpoints database. These topics are the types of issues that usually make people want to discuss them, so they will always have a “pro” side and a “con” side. People will either agree with the topic, or be against it. Find a topic from the list that you are interested in and want to learn more about.

·       Choose a topic of your choice from the database presented by Dr. Franklin.

·       Use evidence to create a strong persuasive article (one page long).

·       Essay must include:

Introduction with Background info.     (10 points)

Concession acknowledged                     (10 points)

Body paragraph support                         (20 points)

Conclusion                                                 (10 points)

Grammar and Structure                          (10 points)

Ethos/Pathos/Logos                                (20 points)

Cited Evidence Correctly                        (20 points)
